Burn-In

Burn-in monitoring is a valuable asset in determining the performance of a power supply during burn-in. Continuous monitoring can detect a power supply which had dropped out and recovered. This is not detected in conventional burn-in.

Each position is monitored independent of the other positions. If a unit fails, it can be removed and a new unit can be installed in its place, without disrupting the others. This is a big savings in cost, as you do not have to wait for the burn-in cycle to complete before using the position again.

FineTest Burn-In Carts to hold the units under test

This cart features up to 14 units in one mobile cart with temperature and Power Cycling timing control. This cart can be used for Burn-In and/or Life Testing.

The resistive loads are located at the bottom to help recycle power and heat the units.

The control box on the side of the Burn-In Cart has LEDs to notify of power applied, a timer readout display, and temperature readout display.

FineTest Burn-In Monitoring Computer Display

The computer display is very similar to the actual physical configuration of the burn-in carts to eliminate possible confusion as to the exact positions of the units. Note that this example shows two racks of twelve positions with three possible stations.

An alternate FineTest Burn-In Monitoring Configuration

This software allows the units to be installed and removed without disrupting the Burn-In Cycle of the other units. This software also features a paging system to notify a technician in case of a failure so the unit can be replaced with a new unit. This paging system maximizes the use of the Burn-In Chamber.

This configuration also monitors the chamber temperature, and can functionally test each unit individually.
