Block Diagram of FineTest DC Interface Unit
Power Supply Testing
DC On/Off Relays in series with Safety Interlcok:
To insure operator safety, this unit prevents the application of DC power
until a micro switch in the test fixture's safety cover completes the circuit.
The unit provides 2 signals for each DC Source in the Tester:
DC Control:
This control signal is in series with the System Interlock.
This means that the DC Interface On/Off Relays will remain open until the following two conditions are met:
1. Safety Interlock is closed
(typically a micro-switch in the Test Fixture)
AND
2. DC Control is closed
(typically closed by a General Purpose Relay under Computer Control)
An optional Shunt or Hall Effect current monitor can be added to the DC Interface Unit.
DC Current Monitor:
This signal can be used to measure the DC Source Output Current.
It is typically used for DC/DC Converter Efficiency Tests
